- Stereo: Stereo is when sound that is directed through two or more speakers, is then surrounding the listener and to come from more then one source.
- Channel: A path over which electrical singles can pass.
- Track: Track is when either a song has been pre-recorded and then able to listen to it either on media player or anything else. A track is a song that is in the format either MP3 or any other type of audio file. It is also a distinct selection of music from a recording or a compact disc.
- Frequency: The rate at which something occurs or is repeated many times, or over a period of time. This is the number of times a particular type of music or sound can occur.
- Hertz: The SL unit of frequency that is equal to a cycle per second.
- Decibel: A unit used to measure the intensity of a sound or the power level of an electrical signal by comparing it with a given level on a logarithmic scale.
- Wav: Short for Wave Form Audio File Format is a microsoft audio file format standard for storing an audio bitstream on PCs.
- Mp3: A means of compressing a sound sequence into a very small file, used as a way of downloading audio files from the Internet.
- Aiff: Audio Interchange File Format, is an audio file format standard used for storing sound data for personal computers and other electronic audio devices.
