The goal and purpose of our video is to create our own version of the music video.

On Friday the 17th Laura and I started to film with the help of our other cast/member Jo-Raelene and Erica. For our film we had originally planned on making a sequel to the first song, but decided to not go on with that plan because we didnt have enough scenes.

First we had filmed the beggining scenes for the song "you & i" at a park. We made sure that it was the evening so we can have a good effect on the video. We then filmed some scenes of the music video inside (we filmed in the order of the music video). We had also filmed the sqeual which is "dont cry" by park bom, which she also sang "you and i".

What are some advantages of digital video?

What is meant by frame rate in video?

The frame rate determines how many images are displayed every second a movie is played. The higher the frame rate, the better quality/smoother.

Are all videos/movies the same frame rate, explain your answer.

Installing Audacity - A Portable Audio Editor & Recorder

1. What is a portable application?
   A portable app is a computer program that you can carry around with you on a portable device and use on any Windows computer. When your USB flash drive, portable hard drive, iPod or other portable device is plugged in, you have access to your software and personal data just as you would on your own PC. And when you unplug the device, none of your personal data is left behind.
2. The advantages of portable applications.
   - They are free and open source, and are developed by people who are excellent programmers.
   - You can carry your files and programs with you everywhere.
   - A better way of installing onto your computer.
3. The types of software available as portable applications.
   - Marble Portable: virtual globe and atlas

Uploading Video from a phone.

• To transfer files such as images and video onto my laptop/computer I connect the phone cable to the usb slot on the computer/laptop. A hard disk drive would then appear eg: "KeithMae's Phone". To then transfer onto your computer you click into the files that are stored onto the device, then simply drag and paste.

Data Compression.

1. What is data compression?
   Data compression, source coding or bit-rate reduction is the process of encoding information using fewer bits than the original representation would use.
2. What is a data compression ratio?
   Computer science term used to quantify the reduction in data-representation size produced by a data compression algorithm.
3. Why is data compression an important technique for the online world?
   Because users want faster downloads so minimizing the file size will increase the speed.
4. What is the difference between Lossy and Lossless data compression?
   Lossy image compression is used in digital cameras, to increase storage capacities with minimal degradation of picture quality, Whilst  lossless is in contrast to loss data compression which only allows an approximation of the orginal data to be reconstructed, in exchange for better compression rates. 
5. Which method offers the greatest compression ratio?Lossless data compression.
6. Why is human psychology and perception an important factor in methods of Lossy compression?
   Methods of psychoacoustics are used to remove non-audible (or less audible) components of signal. Compression of human speech is often performed with even more specialized techniques, so that "speech compression" or "voice coding" is sometimes distinguished as a separate discipline from "audio compression".

Audio Sampling Rate and Sampling size.

1. Sound moves through what medium?
   Sounds are pressure waves of air. If there wasn't any air, we wouldn't be able to hear sounds. There's no sound in space. 
2. What is used to measure sample size?
   Bits
3. What unit is used to measure sampling rate?
   Hz (hertz)
4. Compare the quality of AM, FM and Digital Radio.
   AM radio ranges from 535 to 1705kHz.
   FM radio band goes from 88 to 108 MHz.
   Digital radio has frequencies below 30MHz.  

New Terms relating to audio files

1. Stereo: Stereo is when sound that is directed through two or more speakers, is then surrounding the listener and to come from more then one source. 
2. Channel: A path over which electrical singles can pass. 
3. Track: Track is when either a song has been pre-recorded and then able to listen to it either on media player or anything else. A track is a song that is in the format either MP3 or any other type of audio file. It is also a distinct selection of music from a recording or a compact disc. 
4. Frequency: The rate at which something occurs or is repeated many times, or over a period of time. This is the number of times a particular type of music or sound can occur. 
5. Hertz: The SL unit of frequency that is equal to a cycle per second. 
6. Decibel: A unit used to measure the intensity of a sound or the power level of an electrical signal by comparing it with a given level on a logarithmic scale. 
7. Wav: Short for Wave Form Audio File Format is a microsoft audio file format standard for storing an audio bitstream on PCs. 
8. Mp3: A means of compressing a sound sequence into a very small file, used as a way of downloading audio files from the Internet. 
9. Aiff: Audio Interchange File Format, is an audio file format standard used for storing sound data for personal computers and other electronic audio devices.

Broadband and Bandwidth.

1. What is broadband?
   Broadband Internet access, often shortened to just "broadband", is a high data rate connection to the internet.
2. What units are used to measure bandwidth?
   bits (b or bit), kilobits (kb or kbit), megabits (Mb or Mbit), gigabits (Gb or Gbit) or megabytes (MB), megabytes per second (MBps or mbps or Mbps) and megabits per second (Mbit/s or mbps or Mbps). There are approximately 1000 kilobits per one megabit and there are eight bits (b) per byte (B). (Which means a megabyte is much much bigger than a kilobit).
3. How much faster is broadband than dial up?
   1000 mega bits per second.
4. What are the speeds that broadband operates at compared to dial up?
   Dial up is considered to be just below a megabit per second and broadband can go from over 1 megabit per second to over 1000 megabit per second.
5. What are some of the advantages of using a broadband connection to download something like a video compared to a dial up?
   Connection speed is up to 100 times faster than dialup connection.  You can download pictures files, software in seconds or minutes instead of hours.  Online gaming is only possible using a broadband internet access. Compared to the dial up it does not have a wide range of frequencies that can be transferred through the internet.
